Hello. If you’re on the hunt for your next holiday cottage look no further.
We may be the new kid on the block, but behind the scenes we’ve got decades of holiday letting experience all under one virtual roof. Love Cottages is owned and run by holiday rental experts from some of the UK’s most well known self-catering agencies. And we bring you the largest collection of inspected holiday homes in the UK.
Love Cottages is the ‘newbie’ in cottage rentals.
A brand new holiday rental website, launched in January 2016, with us, what you see is what you get: cottage holidays you can trust from search to stay.
It’s our ambition to ensure that the next cottage holiday you take is booked safe in the knowledge that the property exists, has been visited and photographed by one of our agency partners, and probably even rated according to self-catering industry standards.
We only deal in great cottage holiday experiences.
All of our properties have been personally inspected by the managing agent, so we know they exist. Most of those properties also have a Visit England or Visit Wales rating. And in Scotland and Northern Ireland, we’re working with the agencies setting the industry standards. So you can book quickly and easily, confident of quality.
As you might expect, we’ve got the whole range of property types and locations. If you really want that idyllic chocolate box English cottage, we’ve definitely got some of those. If you’re in need of a rural retreat, we’ve got those too. In fact, we’ve got everything from coastal cottages to farmhouses and barn conversions. We might even throw in a handful of quirky properties just to spice it up a bit.
Wherever you’re looking to stay in the UK, however big the party or low the budget we’ve hopefully got something that’ll fit the bill. And rest assured, what you see is what you’ll get.
That’s our story. We’d love to hear yours.
All of the wonderful properties that you see advertised on Love Cottages come to us from independent holiday lettings agencies across the UK.
We now have over 50 agencies listed on the site, and they’ve been selected by meeting very strict criteria. Each cottage has been personally inspected by the operating agency to a Visit England or Visit Wales standard.
Our current board members all have agencies listed on the site, are its founding members, and are passionate about quality holidays with a ‘personal touch’.
So without further ado please be introduced to the Love Cottages team…
With a 30 year career spanning publishing, manufacturing and consultancy, Mark has honed some very effective communication skills, which are put to good use as our Chairman. Always happy to pick up the phone Mark is passionate about customer service and innovative business solutions designed to improve customer experience.
As Managing Director of Wight Locations on the Isle of Wight, Mark enjoys keeping up with friends and family and extolling on the virtues of the sea air!
Ian holds the purse strings for Love Cottages and is our honorary Treasurer and Company Secretary. As you would expect, he has a keen eye for detail, and at our board meetings he always has the requisite calculator to hand.
For many years Ian, together with his wife Karen, ran Cottage in the Country, a holiday cottage agency located in the Cotswolds. As business partners they owned and managed the agency between them, and were always on hand to answer any questions from their guests. Now, taking life a little easier, Ian enjoys walking their dogs in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.
Jez’s local knowledge of his home county Dorset is vast, but is rivalled by his equally extensive knowledge of pubs, spirits and fine wines. Of a professional nature of course! With a previous career in Wine Tourism (circa New Zealand, 2000) he returned to the UK in 2006 and turned his attention to tourism of the holiday type, working in the family business at Dorset Coastal Cottages.
As Managing Director of Dorset Coastal Cottages, Jez drives the company forward but also has time to turn his energies towards the needs of Love Cottages – keeping us appraised of industry news and keeping our spirits (pardon the pun) high…
The youngest member of the team, George spent many years in the property industry in London and Gloucestershire before heading home to Cornwall to join family business, Cornish Traditional Cottages. After seven years learning the ropes George became company director in 2016, taking the baton on for the next generation.
With a young family, George has little time to spare between work and home. But he can be found enjoying an early morning surf, or chasing the sunrise on his road bike, if the opportunity presents itself.
