Perched on the south western edge of Loch Shiel is the settlement of Acharacle. This small village community is spread across the lochside making the most of the views. The road to our holiday cottages in Acharacle is single track like most of the roads on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. This makes for a gentle arrival as you wend your way past lochs, through woodland and glen. The beautiful scenery, the wealth of walks and the sandy beaches make this a great holiday for those with four-legged friends and we’ve plenty of pet-friendly holiday cottages to offer.
Yet more crofting history rests here in Acharacle as does the legacy of engineer Thomas Telford. He built the first road here from the Corran Ferry as well as the original bridge over Loch Shiel. Once a bustling loch for transporting people and produce, its almost deserted state today making it one of the most serene spots anywhere. Whichever way you travel, stay a while in an Acharacle holiday home.
